After cleaning my apartment in preparation to move, I had to stop and take out the trash. The first three rounds were normal as trash taking out can be, but that fourth round was different and I don’t mean a little different. As I opened, my apartment door to head down the hall to send the overstuffed trash bag down the shoot. I noticed that my neighbor had his door cracked and some nice smooth beats coming from the speakers. On the way back, before I could hit the corner the music had gotten louder, which did not bother me none. As I reached for the knob, I felt a tall presence behind me and I can’t say I didn’t pee my pants just a little. First of all, I never seen the neighbor before, he’s always going into his apartment before I can get to my door. When I try to take a quick look all I see is his door with his name nicely painted on it. I didn’t know we can paint our doors, let me try something like that can you say eviction, I thought to myself. Anyway, I felt that he was a tall man and he smelled different like swamp water and a little AXE. The shit was not okay especially with his oversized body so close to me.

“EXCUSE ME!! You’re up on me for what?” I said half way turned around.

He made a funny sound with his voice, but no words. I turned completely around and I think it caught him off guard because of how quick I moved in that moment. What I saw made my mouth drop to the floor. I never seen such a big smile and so many teeth.

“WTF” is all that came out of my mouth.

When he heard it, his smile went away and he turned to go back to his apartment.

“I’m so sorry Mr. A I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings”, I said.

“Was there something that you wanted to tell me?” I said as I touch his back.

He turned back around and reached his short arm and hand to me inviting me to dance. I put my hand over my heart and the other I placed in his. I’m not going to say that I wasn’t afraid because it was something I never did and never in a million years thought that my first dance was going to be with a well-dressed Alligator. Everything makes so much sense now.

“I have to take a bath for days after this one, swamp doesn’t smell that good on me.” I thought myself as we dance up and down the hall for what seemed like forever. I will keep this moment close to my heart forever more.

“Goodnight Mr. A thank you for the dance” I said over my shoulder as I walked into my apartment.

Right before the door can close completely, I heard him say clear as day. “You are so welcome Mrs. A”

I don’t give a fuck how much I try to explain this mess no one would believe me. The secret is for me and me alone.” I said alone as I undressed right by the door throwing the clothes that I had on straight in the trash and soon after the shower water was flowing down my back…

I hope everyone enjoyed the read, it’s so fun to start and end where you want to with writing. Tune into Chapter 2!
